To perform the power backfist, bend your front arm from its guard position so that the fist is right in front of your chest. Then, quickly snap your forearm out, extending from your elbow and land the first two knuckles of your fist on the opponent, with your fingers facing out rather than down. The spinning backfist is very similar, except you also twist out with your torso as you snap your fist out to deliver a greater force. This can be so exaggerated that you actually perform nearly a 360 degree spin before landing the back fist. Right before the strike lands, the arm should extend to generate more power.
